We encourage all students to be the best they can be, and to adopt a positive approach to study, whilst striking a balance with a breadth of extra-curricular and enrichment activities.
Inspired by the scholarly ways of St Edmund, our students have enquiring minds, open hearts, and a love of learning. At St Ed’s you’ll be supported by a tutor, Head of House, subject teachers, and our Heads of Department. We’ll regularly review your progress and agree targets for your progress. Openess, discussion and reflection is encouraged here.
Pupils of all abilities, including those with higher prior attainment, make good progress. They achieve success in external examinations that often exceeds expectations in relation to their starting points.
We provide a diverse choice of A Level subjects, each one delivered by highly experienced, supportive educators. Most students study three or four A Levels. In addition to this all students study Religious Education.
From 2024, we are excited to offer a new Rhetoric pathway – the Cambridge Technical Diploma. This qualification is equivalent to two A Levels, and involves a mixture of internal and external assessment. Students can opt for Business Level 3 or Sport and Physical Activity Level 3.
On average 90% of our A Level students secure a place at their first choice of university
