The Admissions Process
At St Edmund’s College and Prep, we follow an Admissions Process (below).
1: Visit Us
Every day is an open day for us, and we are delighted to welcome you to the College and Prep for a private tour at your convenience. Please get in touch with our Admissions Team to book a tour.
Additionally, we host multiple Open Day events throughout the academic year, which you can discover here.

Please click ‘How to Register‘ and use the drop-down boxes to the left of your screen (if using a PC) or at the bottom of your screen (if using a smartphone) to guide you through the registration process.
Please check the deadlines for applications for each year, which can be found under ‘Key Dates‘ and note that there is a £100 non-refundable registration fee.
Scholarships are available at three entry points: Form 3 (7+), Elements (Year 7) and Rhetoric I (Year 12).
Please be aware that the closing dates for scholarship applications are earlier than standard place applications.
Our Admissions Office will contact you to book an interview slot following your registration.
Depending on the year group that you are applying for, your child will undertake the following:
At the Prep:
- Nursery/ Reception: Your child will visit us for a taster morning and leave after lunchtime.
- Forms 1 and 2: Your child will visit us for a taster day and be assessed in their lessons.
- Forms 3, 4, 5 and 6: Your child will undertake a written test in Maths, English, Non-Verbal Reasoning in the morning, followed by lunch and a taster afternoon in lessons with their peers.
At the College:
At all entry points in the College, we use CEM Assessment. Further details can be found here.
Subject to the interview, entrance examination and school report, you will receive an offer from St Edmund’s College with a date by which you are required to accept.
Within the offer letter, you will find details on how to accept your child(ren)’s place at St Edmund’s College. Upon acceptance, you will receive further information to prepare your child(ren) for their life at St Edmund’s College.
