(Forms 3 – 6)
We offer scholarships to external applicants joining St Edmund’s in Year 7 (Elements) or Year 9 (Grammar).
Scholarships are also available for Rhetoric (Year 12 in Sixth Form).
Scholarships offer a reduction in fees of up to 20% for the duration of time the student attends the College.
Additional financial support may be awarded in conjunction with a scholarship by applying for a bursary.
Elements (Year 7) scholarships |

Douay Academic Scholarships | This scholarship does not require an application and is awarded on the basis of performance in our entrance examination. |
Old Hall Academic Scholarships | This scholarship does not require an application and is awarded to Catholic students currently attending a Catholic school (for at least the last two years). This scholarship is awarded on the basis of performance in our entrance examination. |
All Rounder Scholarships | Awarded to a child who is competent academically and also able to make a substantial contribution to other areas of life at St Edmund’s.
Contributions might be to one or more aspects of school, such as drama, technology, the Catholic life of the College, specialised sports or outdoor pursuits. Students applying for this award should provide evidence of their participation in these areas. Click here to apply. |
Art/Design Technology Scholarships | Awarded to a student who will make a significant contribution to the artistic and/or Design Technology life of the College. This award is decided by examination of a portfolio and a test. Click here to apply. |
Music Scholarships | Awarded to a student who will make a significant contribution to the musical life of the College through participation in the Schola Cantorum (choir), Orchestra or other musical ensembles. This award is decided by audition and includes the provision of free tuition in two instruments.
To apply for this award students are required to play two instruments and must be Grade 3 or above in at least one instrument (voice can be counted as one instrument), and demonstrate music potential. Music Exhibitions may also be awarded which give free tuition in either one or two instruments. Click here to apply. |
Sport Scholarships | Awarded to students who demonstrate excellence, talent, outstanding achievement and promise. In the St Edmund’s environment scholars are looked to as leaders who inspire other students with their passion, resilience, and dedication.
Sports scholars are expected to represent St Edmund’s College in sports at A team level as well as making a significant contribution to the extra-curricular sporting calendar. Sporting ability, attitude and character, athletic potential and academic performance are the key factors in selecting a sports scholar. Click here to apply. |
