International Admissions

The International Department promotes the success of international students within the College whose first language is not English or who have come from overseas.  International students are integrated into every aspect of life at St Edmund’s – they follow a full curriculum and take advantage of English language teaching and support as required.

The admission of international students is selective and by an individual assessment which comprises of an interview and entry test. Students must have a sound educational background and a good character. An interest in music or sports is always an advantage. Students will need to supply transcripts of their School Reports and a School Reference. If successful, students will be placed in the appropriate school year for their chronological age.

Entry tests for ages 11-14 years are in English, Maths and Science. Entry to GCSE and A Level courses is by testing and interview as appropriate.  All students whose parents live outside the UK are required to have a responsible adult living in the UK to act as guardian.

It is recommended that students joining the main school first attend the Summer School as this is excellent preparation for studying at St Edmund’s.  For more information regarding the Summer School please click here.

Mrs Barbara Tucker, our International Registrar, is on hand to discuss your child’s application to the College and you are able to register online by completing the online registration form and pay the registration fee and send a school reference and reports to:
