GCSEs

All GCSE courses are taught in small classes, where students benefit from inspiring teaching and individual attention.

In recent years, all teaching departments have been refurbished and enhanced, to provide specialist resources and to support the latest educational best practice. At St Edmund’s we balance this innovation with the use of more traditional practices and a core commitment to preserving humanity, dignity and discipline in the classroom.

Each student studies four core subjects:

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Religious Education
  • Science (Combined, worth 2 GCSEs, or Triple, worth 3)

In addition to core subjects, students choose four optional subjects.

Core Optional
Religious Education Art, Craft and Design
English Business
Mathematics Computer Science
Science Design and Technology
Physical Education (non-examined) Drama
Languages – French, German, Spanish or Latin
Geography
History
ICT
Music
Physical Education (GCSE)

Please note: timetabling constraints may mean that not all subject combinations are possible.
