Outside the classroom

Although academic study is the main priority, we have always recognised the importance of curriculum beyond the classroom.  To this end, you will find St Edmund’s Sixth Form life packed with opportunities to develop interests and skills in a variety of areas.

St Edmund’s run a successful activities programme where students are able to participate in over 60 varied activities.  Students are also encouraged to become leaders and officers in the Combined Cadet Force working with younger pupils.

The Duke of Edinburgh award is very popular and, importantly, very successful at St Edmund’s.  Many of our Rhetoricians take part in this award and complete Gold in their final year.

Social events for our Rhetoricians take place throughout the year, ranging from formal House dinners and the Rhetoric Ball to informal gatherings such as BBQ’s, pizza and film evenings.

With many guests speakers, study visits, cultural events Rhetoric life is very varied, challenging and rewarding.
