Discover the House System at the core of St Edmund's pastoral care
The House system at St Edmund’s College is at the core of our pastoral care and often described as a family within the College family.
When students join the College, they are allocated to one of our five day Houses. Every year they will have a tutor from the House who alongside the Housemaster or Housemistress will oversee the personal and academic development of each student, ensuring they are looked after and continuously encouraged to achieve their best.
There is a strong sense of House identity and spirit. Each House has its own common room and House spirit is encouraged through a variety of inter-house competitions, from sport to the Arts, and through numerous house events including formal dinners. Houses also provide key opportunities for service and leadership in addition to those within the College.
