Entry to Rhetoric (Sixth Form) is normally on condition of a minimum of five grade B GCSE’s or above/ equivalent in new grading structure marks of 9-5 in the applicable subjects (including those subjects which you wish to study at A Level).
Students studying A Level Mathematics ideally require a grade 8/7 in GCSE Mathematics and a grade 9/8 at GCSE Level for Further Mathematics. In addition, a minimum of B grades are required in the subjects to be studied at AS Level. Students will also be invited to attend an interview with the Headmaster and provide references from their current school.
There are many ways you can visit and get to know us. You are welcome to attend our Open Day in September or the Spring, the Sixth Form Open Evening in October or a personal tour. We are currently offering Virtual Open Day Events with specialised talks for the Sixth Form, which you can register to attend by clicking here.
We also encourage all those interested in applying for Sixth Form at the College to come for a taster day. We arrange these days on an individual basis and tailor the day to enable the student to experience the subjects that they wish to study and meet with staff who will be able to offer further advice. The time here will also give an excellent insight into life at the College including the co-curricular programme, Combined Cadet Force and our highly regarded Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Following registration, an interview will be arranged with either the Headmaster or a Deputy Head. Your predicted grades will be discussed and should all criteria be met an offer will be made.
Joining the College will be subject to achieving the required GCSE examination results.
