Boarder academic support

Academic study is part of the boarding day, and we ensure all boarders can access the support they need to thrive.

Evening and weekend study sessions are supervised by our boarding team, up until Year 13 (Sixth Form), when boarders are encouraged to study in their bedrooms, to promote independent learning and preparation for university life.

Academic support

Academic progress is carefully monitored in collaboration with Heads of House and Heads of Year. This ensures that boarders are reaching their full potential and, if necessary, allows for academic support plans to be put in place.

Every boarder is part of a mentor group of around five students. Each group is mentored by a member of our boarding staff team, and the students meet their mentor on a fortnightly basis. This is an opportunity to address any concerns, work on student-led prayers, explore academic work and to discuss current affairs.

All boarders also follow a detailed PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic) programme, that is specifically designed to meet the needs of boarders. This ranges from issues such as internet safety, mental health and hygiene, to budgeting and cooking in preparation for university and beyond.
