St Edmund’s College offers the opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of a forward thinking and ambitious PE and Games Department.
Set in Hertfordshire, sport is a very important part of our ethos at St Edmund’s College as we aim to inspire and enable positive experiences for our pupils so that they enjoy playing sport and endeavour to lay the foundations for a life that is healthy and active when they leave.
We are looking for someone who is an excellent PE and Games practitioner that has a passion for Hockey.  They will work well within a team, have an ethos that aligns with the school’s values and aims and will play a full part in the life of the college.  We welcome applications from ECT’s, and experienced teachers with a specialism in Hockey (playing and coaching) who have the drive and ambition to grow the sport as well as ensure the departments continued success.
The ideal candidate will be a skilled coach and team player with personal experience of playing or coaching at a high level and a passion for passing on their skills.
The ability to teach Academic PE (GCSE, A-Level and Cambridge Technical Level 3) could be an advantage.
The candidate would ideally be able to offer additional expertise in one of the colleges growth sports. She/he will also need to teach across a range of sports at a more recreational level.
St Edmund’s offers a wide range of sports and a competitive fixture list in our main team sports.
The successful candidate will welcome the many opportunities to contribute to the lively co-curricular life of the College, which is situated in rural East Hertfordshire. St Edmund’s is England’s oldest Catholic school offering an all-round co-education for students from 3 to 18 and for families from all faiths.
The post will involve close contact with, and a high degree of responsibility for, children and young adults. The majority of this will be regulated activity.
