Religious Life
The Trinity Term at St Edmund’s College has been a time of rich religious life and reflection. Pupils have taken part in regular services, prayer, and faith-based activities that deepen their understanding of Catholic teaching. From meaningful Chapel gatherings to opportunities for personal prayer and reflection, the term has provided space for students to grow spiritually and live out their faith in the College community.
The Lent Term ended with our Tenebrae Service, a time to reflect on the final journey of Jesus. It is one of the most thoughtful services of the year and is valued by everyone who takes part.
At the start of the Trinity Term, pupils preparing for public examinations received an exam prayer card. This small card is a reminder to stay calm, focused and faithful during exam season.
Our Rhetoric 2 pupils took part in their Leavers’ Mass, celebrating their time at St Edmund’s College. During the service Fr Peter spoke about the importance of Catholic education, the central place of the Eucharist and the role of the College in the life of the Church. He encouraged pupils to live by these teachings as they move on to the next stage of their journey. Each pupil received a signed copy of The History of St Edmund’s College as a special keepsake.
As the term drew to a close, we celebrated the commitment of our Altar Servers. Pupils who have completed a year of service were awarded their Servers’ Ties. It is inspiring to see them grow in confidence as older pupils guide and support those who are new to serving.
The Faith in Action Award also continues to grow in strength. The group meets each week to pray, reflect and find ways to live out their faith through action. This year pupils have taken part in many activities including Red Wednesday, Holocaust Memorial Day, litter picking, chapel readings and charity events.
We are proud to celebrate this year’s award recipients:
-
Gold Award (three years of commitment): Liam and Zara
-
Silver Award: Isla, Demi, Alice, Kamdi, Dubem and Kuda
-
Bronze Award: James and Joseph
Their hard work and example encourage others to put their faith into action within our College community and beyond.
