Entry to Sixth Form

The prospect of Sixth Form education at St Edmund’s College is a most exciting, challenging and important one.  It offers you a superbly supportive environment which will not just provide a passport to the best universities, art schools and other institutions of higher education in Britain and abroad, but also offer you two years of discovery, stimulation and challenge.

Each year we hold Open Days held in September and the Spring and you are always welcome to come for a personal visit. It is also possible to arrange a taster day tailored to the subjects you may wish to study where possible.

We ask for a minimum of five grade Bs at GCSE Level including those subjects which you hope to study.  A Level Mathematics students require a grade 9-5 of the new grading stucture in GCSE Mathematics, and a 9-8 for Further Mathematics at GCSE Level.  Students wishing to study any A Level Science require two B grades in GCSE Sciences or the International equivalent. For the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme the entry requirement is five grade Bs of above.

Once you have registered an interview with the Headmaster or the Registrar will be organised and you need to provide a reference from your current school and latest school report.

Scholarships and bursaries are also available at Sixth Form at St Edmund’s College. Academic, music, art and sport scholarships are available and we call these the Cardinal Allen Scholarships.
