Congratulations to Louie and Alec, our 2024 chess tournament finalists who worked their way through a field of 32 skilled chess enthusiasts to reach the deciding game. The final, played in the College Museum, was a fiercely attacking affair, with both players losing their cherished queens in the opening exchange. Alec proved to be the dominant player in the beginning and middle-game but lost the end-game to Louie who achieved check-mate after twenty seven minutes. Great character was shown by both competitors who gave a tremendous account of themselves throughout.
