Teacher of Science

We require a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher to assist in leading our excellent Science Department.

(Required for September 2022)

We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and enthusiastic Teacher of Science, to ignite a passion for learning in all our students and to encourage them to be challenged by the complexities of the Universe.

The Science department encompasses the three separate disciplines of Biology, Chemistry and Physics. It is housed in a block comprising nine laboratories and dedicated preparation and support facilities. Science is taught as a combined discipline in Years 7 and 8, but as separate subjects by specialist teachers from Year 9 onwards.

The successful candidate must be able to teach General Science to KS3. Applications from new entrants to the profession or from more experienced teachers are equally welcome.

St Edmund’s College offers modern facilities in a magnificent country setting in rural Hertfordshire, providing a safe and stimulating environment for young minds.

Membership of Teachers’ Pensions scheme.

The post will involve close contact with, and a high degree of responsibility for, children and young adults. The majority of this will be regulated activity.

Working Hours and Salary

Working Hours:  Term Time hours are 8.30am until 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.
Salary:  The salary for the post will be dependent upon experience and in accordance with the St Edmund’s Pay Scale.
