Teacher of PE and Girls’ Games (ECT/GTP) – Fixed Term

We require an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of PE and Girls’ Games to join our experienced PE and Games department on a Fixed Term Contract.

(Required for 1st September 2022 to 30th October 2022)

Sport is a very important part of our ethos at St Edmund’s College and we aim to provide positive experiences for our pupils so that they enjoy playing sport at school and more importantly will endeavour to lay the foundations for a life that is healthy and active when they leave.

We require an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of PE and Girls’ Games to join our experienced PE and Games department in its aim to provide excellent academic teaching, promote and stimulate pupil interest and enjoyment in the subject and to promote health and fitness for current and future lifestyle. Experience of teaching Hockey and/or Netball to a high standard is essential.

St Edmund’s offers a wide range of sports and a competitive fixture list in our main team sports.

The successful candidate will welcome the many opportunities to contribute to the lively extra-curricular life of the College, which is situated in rural East Hertfordshire. St Edmund’s is England’s oldest Catholic school offering an all-round co-education for students from 3 to 18 and for families from all faiths.

  • Membership of Teachers’ Pension Scheme.

The post will involve close contact with, and a high degree of responsibility for, children and young adults. The majority of this will be regulated activity.

Working Hours and Salary

Working Hours:  Term Time hours are 8.30am until 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.
Salary:  The salary for the post will be dependent upon experience and in accordance with the St Edmund’s Pay Scale.
