St Edmund’s College is seeking to appoint an outstanding teacher of English.

(Required for January 2024)

St Edmund’s requires, for the Senior School, a suitably qualified English teacher with a firm grounding in the teaching of English Literature and an understanding of how to inculcate pupils in both a love of reading and the skills to write in a wide variety of registers.  We welcome applications from new entrants to the profession or experienced teachers. The ability to teach Media would be an advantage. The candidate appointed will teach students of a broad range of ability from Year 7 to A Level, joining a very experienced team in a well-resourced department with a proven record of success.

You will be working on a regular basis in a school in a role which gives opportunity for contact with children. As such, you will be in regulated activity and an enhanced DBS check (which includes children’s barred list information) will be required in advance of appointment.

As with all staff, you will be responsible for providing a safe environment in which children can learn.
