We require an ambitious and enthusiastic Teacher of EAL for a September 2020 start.

The ability to teach an additional subject would be an advantage

The successful candidate will have a clear understanding of the linguistic requirements of the secondary school curriculum and will be able to adapt to the linguistic needs and learning requirements of the students. Experience teaching one or more of the international examination courses offered at St Edmund’s is essential

There are approximately 100 students from overseas, aged 11 to 19 years, from about 20 different countries and usually 50% of these receive teaching and/or support from the EAL Department.

The successful candidate will welcome the many opportunities to contribute to the lively extra-curricular life of the College, which is situated in rural East Hertfordshire. St Edmund’s is England’s oldest Catholic school offering an all-round co-education for students from 3 to 18 and for families from all faiths.

Working Hours:  Term Time hours are 8.30am until 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.
Salary:  The salary for the post will be dependent upon experience and in accordance with the St Edmund’s Pay Scale.
