Clerk to the Governors – Maternity Cover

St Edmund’s College is seeking to appoint an organised and proficient Clerk to the Governors to cover a period of maternity leave.

(Required 1st May 2019)

Flexible hours, mainly home-based, other than attendance at daytime / early evening meetings. Dates for all meetings are set well in advance. The contract will be for approximately 250 hours per year.

The successful candidate will be reliable, confident, with good interpersonal and communication skills and with an interest in school governance. Access to the internet and good computer skills are essential.

You will be accountable to the Governing Body, working with the Chair of Governors, Headmaster, Bursar and other Governors. You will provide procedural and legal guidance, prepare and circulate agendas, take minutes, handle correspondence, deal with sensitive and confidential issues and co-ordinate appeal panels and hearings.
