Instrumental Lessons

The Prep School shares a team of around fifteen peripatetic staff with the College. Depending on the age of the child, lessons are available in voice, piano, recorder, guitar, drum kit and many standard orchestral instruments. Lessons are taught weekly during curriculum time and on a rotating timetable so that no child regularly misses the same curriculum lesson. Lessons are usually individual and last for 30 minutes (Prep) or 20 minutes (Pre-Prep), but paired or small group lessons can sometimes be arranged. Most of the lessons take place in the Prep School, although some Form 6 children are taught in the College. Children can be entered by their teachers for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, Trinity Guildhall, London College of Music (Music Theatre) and Rockschool (drum kit) examinations.

Most of these external examinations are held in the College Music Department each term.
