Father Peter Lyness, our Priest-in-Residence delivers Mass each week in the St Hugh’s Chapel and helps our children understand the importance of Mass and guides us all with prayers and readings.
Through our links with the Disciples of the Hearts of Jesus and Mary based in Madrid, one seminarian supports all at the College and Prep each year. They support the Prep children in the classroom with religious education lessons giving all a deeper understanding of the Gospel.
Central to our Mission is to think of others before ourselves. Our Chaplaincy team, a group of children guided and supported by staff, consider and write prayers for our assemblies.
Thinking of others and service and leadership in our wider community is a continual part of our daily lives at the Prep. Each term House Captains select a charity which they wish to support. This can be a local, national or indeed international charity and through events organised, ranging from the popular cake sale, sponsored runs or ‘Spelling Bees’ children from Nursery to Form 6 can help others by raising money.
Often representatives from the charities come visit us helping the children to understand how and why they can help.
Below gives an example of our Charity work meeting the Harlow Food Bank for whom the children had collected food donations for.
