From January 2021 (for September 2021 entry) St Edmund’s College is using a new style entrance test.
The test will be a computer-based test using CEM Select Entrance Assessment.
The test takes approximately 60 minutes and is fully digital.
This test will assess three core areas:
- Numerical ability
- Verbal ability
- Non-verbal ability
The assessments are designed to enable children to demonstrate their academic potential, reduce the need for coaching and excessive preparation and to assess genuine understanding rather than learning through repetition.
The data collected allows us to accurately set new students and allows the College to track and monitor our students’ flight path as they progress.
There is an extra time option available to support those who require it.
Please note: CEM does not provide practice material as they believe this maintains fairness.

Applicants to the College will be contacted by our Admissions team when our CEM Assessment slots are available.
