Zeal for the Faith
A great emphasis
on Music, Drama and Art means that children are given every
encouragement to develop their creative talents, both in lessons and
during extra-curricular activities and we were delighted to be awarded
an Artsmark award in 2008 which recognises our commitment to the Arts.
As
well as learning Music in class, all pupils are encouraged to play a
musical instrument and join one of our musical groups such as the String
Group, Wind Group and Choir. There are also many opportunities for
children to participate in group or solo performances at our regular
recitals and concerts.
Drama
is a curricular subject from Year 3 to Year 6, and every year we have a
number of productions in which all children can act, dance or play
music. Children also have the opportunity to perform in weekly
assemblies, lessons and at open afternoons. Pupil's colourful artwork
can always be seen displayed around the school and our Art, Design and
Technology room provides excellent facilities for working in a range of
styles and materials.
