Lower School
In
the lower school in Years 7-9 (ages 11 to 14 years) international
students follow a full curriculum and the requirements of the National
Curriculum at Key Stage 3 wherever possible. The curriculum includes
the following subjects: English (or ESOL), Maths, Science, French, Art,
IT, Geography, History, DT, Music, Drama, Religious Education and
Physical Education. In Year 8, students begin a second language and may
choose between Spanish, German or Latin. International students are
placed according to their chronological age in the correct National
Curriculum Year for their age.
First Division
The GCSE syllabus begins in Year 10 (ages
14-15 years). All international students study English (or ESL), Maths,
Biology, Chemistry and Physics. When available, international students
will sit a GCSE in their first language (for example: Chinese, Thai,
Russian, Japanese). International students are placed according to
their chronological age in the correct National Curriculum Year for
their age. They may then choose four additional GCSE subjects from the

Sixth Form Entry Year 12
We
advise students to aim for no lower than a Grade B at GCSE in the
subjects which they would like to follow at AS level. International
students take between three and five AS Levels (depending on aptitude
and ability) plus their first language. Students may drop to
three A2 subjects plus their first language in Year 13 if approved by
the College. Students are required to have a minimum of five GCSEs at
