Payment of Fees
Fees should be paid termly or monthly in advance. We will generally try to give a full term's notice of a change of fees, but this may not always be possible. Fees must be paid by one of the following methods:

  • By Direct Debit termly on 1st September, 1st January and 1st May; or
  • By Direct Debit with our 10-month instalment scheme commencing in August, or by agreement, if a student commences School during the course of the academic year.

Registration Fee
An £85 non-returnable fee is payable on registration (cheques made payable to St Edmund's College). This should be sent together with the Registration Form to the Admissions Office.

Acceptance Deposit
An Acceptance Deposit of £500 is payable on confirmation of an accepted place. This money is held in order to cover any necessary or emergency expenses incurred during the student's time at the school. This amount will be refunded when the student finishes studies, less any expenses incurred. (Please note that the Acceptance Deposit cannot be returned if your child does not take up the place).

Allowances for two or more children
Allowances are made for two or more children attending the school at the same time. A reduction of 5% in the fees for the second child, 7½% for the third and 10% for the fourth is automatically granted.

Parents serving in HM Forces
A 10% reduction in the fees is granted to children who have a parent serving in HM Forces.

Extras

We endeavour to keep extras to a minimum, so that family budgeting is as straightforward as possible. For this reason lunch, most textbooks and stationery, and for boarders, laundry, are all included in the fees. Possible other costs may include day trips, specialist equipment, or individual sports coaching. As a student approaches GCSE and A Levels, a charge is made by the examining body for entry. Careers' testing also attracts a charge. There is also a Library Fee - £30 (one-off payment).

Friends of St Edmund's Amenities Fund
Each family is asked to make a single contribution of £10 each term towards the Amenities Fund. This is an optional contribution to help towards the provision of new and improved resources and to help fund minor projects for the benefit of our pupils.

Life Membership of the Edmundian Association
Founded in 1853, the Edmundian Association encourages and facilitates contact between the College and its former students so they gain the maximum benefit from their education at St Edmund's. A programme of regular events and newsletters ensures former students are kept in touch. From 2010/11 membership will be funded by a voluntary termly parental contribution of £15 per child. This will provide each student with Life Membership of the Edmundian Association and all its associated benefits. By way of recognition each parent will also receive Associate Membership for life.

Special Educational Needs
The College can offer one-to-one tuition for children with special educational needs, such as mild dyslexia. A charge is levied for these lessons. Further details are available on application.

Musical Instrument Tuition Fees
Music Tuition (per instrument) - £185 per term (10 x 30 min lessons)
