Wellbeing and pastoral care

At St Edmund’s Prep pastoral care evolves from our approach as a caring, family school.

At St Ed’s, kindness, good manners and respect for others are constantly encouraged, reflecting our ethos as a Catholic school.

Our teachers offer an abundance of praise and successes – however small – are always celebrated. Individual Form teachers oversee the general welfare, development and progress of each child. Parents are kept informed of how their child is performing through regular open days and parent evenings, as well as through annual school reports which detail progress and achievements.

Our on-site centre ‘The Swan’s Nest’ provides medical care and basic first aid. The College’s Health Centre facilities are also available to Prep pupils during term time.

Our House System also plays a central role in supporting the overall wellbeing of every pupil.

Above all, we want to ensure that each child is happy and has the confidence to achieve their full potential.

Working with parents

Parents are integral to our school community, as partners in their child's education. The Friends of St Edmund's Society run all sorts of events that bring a true sense of community.

Our son has settled really well and is enjoying himself. He is happy, as are we.
