How to apply

We’re delighted that you’re considering St Edmund’s for your child’s education.

Choosing a school is an important decision, one that has to feel right. We can provide all the information you need to make the right choice for your family when applying to St Edmund’s College & Prep School.

Our Admissions process

 

1: Visit us

We warmly invite you to visit St Edmund’s for a private tour at your convenience.

Please get in touch with our External Relations team to book a tour, or register for an upcoming open event.

2: Register

Visit How to register and select the relevant entry point to begin your application.

Please check our deadlines for applications and also note that there is a non-refundable registration fee.

3: Scholarships

Scholarships are available at three entry points: Form 3 (7+)Elements (Year 7), Grammar (Year 9) and Rhetoric I (Year 12).

Please be aware that scholarship application deadlines are earlier than standard place applications.

4: Interview

Our External Relations team will contact you to book an interview slot following your registration.

5: Assessment

Depending on the year group you are applying for, your child will undertake the following:

Prep: 

  • Nursery/Reception: Visit us for a taster morning and leave after lunchtime.
  • Forms 1 and 2: Visit us for a taster day and be assessed in their lessons.
  • Forms 3, 4, 5 and 6: A written test in Maths, English, Non-Verbal Reasoning in the morning, followed by lunch and a taster afternoon in lessons with peers.

College and Sixth Form: 

At all entry points in the College and Sixth Form, we use CEM Assessment.

6: Offer

Subject to the interview, entrance examination and school report, you will receive an offer from St Edmund’s College & Prep.

This will include a date by which you are required to accept your place.

7: Accept

Within the offer letter, you will find details on how to accept your place at St Edmund’s College & Prep.

Upon acceptance, we’ll share further information on how to prepare for joining us.
